SUSTAINABILITY
Sustainability is more than a goal, it is a continuous journey towards a better future, which should be written deep into the DNA of both business and society. It is an attitude that requires a constant pursuit of harmony between growth and environmental protection, between innovation and ethical values. It is a challenge that inspires action to minimize the negative impact on the planet, encouraging both companies and individuals to make responsible choices and an approach based on sustainable thinking. Sustainable development is a path where every step matters and contributes to creating a better tomorrow, respecting the needs of both current and future generations.
Cooperation between nature and business is possible and such cooperation must be established and implemented because it can bring many benefits. At Droll, our priority is to focus on ecology and environmental protection. That is why, from the very beginning of the brand's existence, we have created clothes only from sustainable materials from recycling or pro-ecological crops, but we do not limit ourselves to this area. We also pay special attention to packaging and materials used at this stage, shipping, ethical production and brand transparency.
MATERIALS
For DROLL, the most important thing is the quality and eco-friendliness of the materials from which our products are made. We select only high-quality knitwear and fabrics from the best manufacturers. Our materials have appropriate ecological certificates, which confirms their friendly impact on the environment. We produce clothing from materials from European suppliers from Italy, Portugal, Spain and Poland. All companies that supply us with knitted fabrics, fabrics and clothing accessories have the STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® certificate.
RECYCLED POLYESTER
The polyester we use comes from recycled PET bottles that lie in landfills or waste caught from the seas and oceans using fishing nets. Compared to regular polyester, according to xxx research, recycled polyester requires 60% less energy to produce and reduces CO2 emissions by 45% to 70%. The recycled polyester we use is GRS (Global Recycle Standard) certified.
ORGANIC COTTON
Organic cotton is grown on ecological crops, without harmful substances and fertilizers. It is health-friendly and more durable because its fibers have not been damaged by chemicals. According to Textile Exchange research, growing organic cotton uses 91% less water and 61% less energy than regular cotton. Our organic cotton is GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) certified.
RECYCLED POLYAMIDE
Recycled polyamide is made from waste fabrics, fishing nets or carpets, helping to divert waste from landfills and prevent it from entering the seas. In the production process, recycled polyamide uses much less energy and emits less CO2 than virgin polyamide. The recycled polyamide we use is GRS (Global Recycle Standard) certified.
PRODUCTION
As DROLL, we cooperate with companies that are guided by values similar to ours. Our suppliers, in addition to appropriate quality management and professionalism, respect human rights, labor rights, working conditions and wages, and environmental protection. This is confirmed by the appropriate certificates. Our production takes place locally, resulting in a smaller carbon footprint. The materials are supplied to us by manufacturers of sports fabrics and knitwear from Europe, and the sewing and printing takes place locally in Poland. The quantity of the produced assortment is also very important for DROLL. We produce smaller quantities to avoid excessive accumulation of clothes in warehouses. Our goal is to minimize waste. Providing only the quantities needed allows us to focus on quality. Thanks to this, our customers receive carefully made products, and we contribute to reducing the negative impact on the environment.
SHIPPING AND PACKAGING
Our concern for the environment is not limited only to the selection of ecological textiles, but also includes all the materials we use. We believe that every element matters. For the environment, it is important not only what we send to you, but also how. Shipping boxes, tags, tape and stickers are made from recycled paper and are FCS certified. The string on the pendant is made of natural material - linen. The wrapping paper is fully biodegradable and recyclable. The prints on the shipping materials are made with water-based paints that do not contain petroleum derivatives.
WHAT CAN YOU DO?
BUY AND USE WISELY
Pay attention to your shopping needs and avoid unnecessary purchases, try to use clothes many times, do not wash them too often - only when necessary, use clothes in such a way as to limit their destruction.
WASH PROPERLY
Wash according to the instructions, if the clothes are not very dirty, try to wash them at a low temperature. You can also use special washing filters to limit the release of microplastics into the environment.
REPAIR AND GIVE A SECOND LIFE
If you no longer use your clothes, try to sell them or give them away to give them a second life, because maybe someone else will use them. If the product is damaged, try to repair it.
LIMIT REFUNDS
Each returned item means an additional journey and potentially more CO2 emissions. Therefore, before you decide to return your clothes, it is worth thinking twice, maybe someone around you will want to use them.
